Drop Anchor in Vermilion Ohio

Old Fashioned Holiday

Sunday, December 8, 2024 (3:00 PM - 7:00 PM) (EST)

Description

Get in the holiday spirit with some old-fashioned fun-for-the-whole-family at Vermilion River Reservation! Step back-in-time to the 1860’s as you tour the candlelit Benjamin Bacon House Museum where members of the Brownhelm Historical Association portray Brownhelm residents celebrating the holidays. Outside by their cozy, crackling campfire, enjoy visiting with reenactors as they cook and share Bacon and Brownhelm history. Go on a scenic horse-drawn carriage ride thru Mill Hollow’s pretty, wintry backdrop and relax & roast S’mores around outdoor firepits (while supplies last). Continue the holiday festivities inside the beautifully decorated Carriage Barn as you listen to live music by the warmth & glow of our grand fireplace and 14-foot tall Christmas tree.

Program Fee is $3.00/person (nonrefundable), limit of 15 people per museum tour group, registration by 12/4 REQUIRED, no walk-ins. The time frame you register for and that is listed on your receipt/ticket represents when your museum reenactment tour begins & ends, please arrive to the Carriage Barn Lobby to check-in before the start of your group’s museum tour. FREE parking on the Mill Hollow side near Carriage Barn with overflow parking across North Ridge Road on the Bacon Woods side. Outside activities are weather dependent, for questions contact the Carriage Barn office at 440-967-7310 (10am-4:30pm).
