The Vermilion Historical Society in partnership with the Ritter Public Library will present a video narrative “Vermilion Views – Part 4”, from the weekly online column written by Rich Tarrant, curator of the Vermilion History Museum. This is a continuing series of videos highlighting Vermilion photos and their stories from the 1900s to the 1960s. Tarrant has been collecting old photos and researching the history behind them for over 20 years. Many of his photos were taken by his grandfather Pearl Roscoe who was owner and publisher of the weekly newspaper the “Vermilion News” (1905-1964). Glen Cutcher, a director of the Historical Society, has created this video narrative using the museum’s photo collection. Refreshments will be served following the program. The program is free and open to the public to enjoy.
